HIRING: Crossing Guard for the City of Beacon School Hours

Job Description:

The City of Beacon is looking for School Crossing Guards at various intersections of the City that are heavily trafficked by students going to or from school, Councilperson Molly Rhodes announced during her Report section of the 5/5/2025 City Council Meeting.

Councilperson Molly said: “They were constantly looking for Crossing Guards, but particularly right now, so this would probably not be…you wouldn't start until next school year. It's both the morning shift and the afternoon shift.”

Qualifications:

ALBB is inquiring with the City of Beacon on if a Civil Service test is required.

Work Schedule:
Any or all of these:

  • Morning or Afternoon Shift

Pay:

  • Morning Shift: $18/hour

  • Afternoon Shift: $20/hour

HIRING: Bagel-ish

Job Description:

Bagelish is seeking two to three part-time employees to join our dynamic team at Bagel-ish, a bagel shop/cafe in Beacon NY which specializes in delicious all-natural bagels and sandwiches.

For the Sunday position, this is the Assistant Baker position. This person will be working directly with the owner on baking specialty bagel products. This position could also include other shifts as listed below.

Qualifications:

The front of the house team members should:

  • Work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Explain the uniqueness and benefits of the products to the customers.

  • Have experience working on a POS system (preferably Square).

  • Interact in friendly meaningful way with the public, sampling specialty bagel and food products that are sold at the premises.

  • Prepare and assemble sandwiches according to recipe cards and customer specifications.

  • Observe and assess tasks to be done. Communicate with management and staff on needs (for example when certain ingredients are running low).

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitize work areas.

  • Work cooperatively with the team.

  • Follow food safety guidelines and ensure quality control.

Work Schedule:
Any or all of these days:

  • Thursday 11am-3pm or 4pm

  • Saturday 11am-3pm or 4pm

  • Sunday 5am-11am

Pay:

  • $17-$18 per hour, plus tips and free meals while working.
