The Retail Therapy Guide - 4/24/2020

CSA listings are LIVE in A Little Beacon Blog's Business Directory! A Little Beacon Blog is waiving the listing fee for New York CSAs for those farms with fresh produce who are trying to reach consumers seeking fresh produce, and for those people who are trying to find variation on where they are finding fresh food, and want to support local farms who have lost restaurant clients and other wholesale orders. If you don't see your farm listed, contact us and include your CSA name, website URL, Facebook, Instagram, and a one-sentence description of the type of food you offer. Read more about this new service here

beBhakti Yoga Center in Beacon started a GoFundMe page to keep operations going in their studio. Funds from this campaign will:
  • Help pay rent/mortgage, utilities, insurance and other studio operating costs.
  • Help pay their dedicated staff of teachers.
  • Help keep their classes running, community outreach programs going, and the studio thriving as a destination (you can learn about their community outreach initiatives and philanthropic endeavors on their GoFundMe page).
Beacon fitness centers have made the quick switch to conducting classes online and providing wellness support that people loved connecting with. A Little Beacon Blog has also included Fitness Centers in Beacon in our Business Directory and waived the listing fee. All other businesses are encouraged to list, and we have reduced the listing rates. Activate now, and you'll be locked in once we're on the other side of this pandemic.

If you're a reader in NYC and long for Beacon - joining a fitness class is a great way to step into the Beacon community! Hop into these classes!

HUDSON VALLEY EATS

Hudson Valley Eats launched their business as a dining club that gives back to nonprofits who aid in fighting food insecurity. And then the pandemic happened, and put all that on hold. Now, Hudson Valley Eats has devoted all of their time to promoting restaurants and nonprofits in need. Their Facebook Group for Restaurants and Diners has lots of takeout ideas for consumers and resources for restaurant owners. Their Facebook Group for Food Insecurity is rich with volunteer information and giving-back opportunities. They recently published a list of organizations who are helping get food to people in need right now, who could use donations.
