reMade
133 Main Street

Get yourself a nice cold six-pack of the Coney Island Mermaid Pilsner (actually available at Rite Aid, or check the new Craft Beer Shoppe next to Key Food) and put it into this handcrafted mermaid bag by Michelle of 'BomChelle Bags available at reMADE right now. This isn't the only style, as in this collection you'll find a little of the sweet side, and a little of the rock-n-roll side, but they are all limited edition. Can't wait to see who is sporting this mermaid style!

A Classic Couture Fashion Boutique
178 Main Street

The Goddess look... Where can you get this much pleated organdy in a couture dress with this much flounce? At A Classic Couture Fashion Boutique, that's where, right near Artisan Wine Shop. This Marchesa dress could be worn for a summer evening out, or even as a wedding dress for those who are going short this year. You must try it on, at least...

Bellus on Main
181 Main Street

Ingenious Alert at Bellus on Main. Not only does Bellus have high fashion on their racks, but they look for really smart products to keep your life easy. Introducing the "droplet": a tiny blue ball that can fit on your keychain, and out pops a "dry bag" that can hold your wet bathing suit, used tissues, PB&J sandwiches, little kid snacks, and everything else that might wreck the super cute lining of your bag. Because - let's be real: Sometimes we buy bags just for the lining, and this dry bag will protect that.

Luxe Optique
183 Main Street

When we first saw the announcement from Luxe Optique that the new line of Anne et Valentine came in, we didn't realize what a big deal this handcrafted line was, a frame many agree "opens the eyes and provides definition." Upon seeing them in person, one could take pictures of these glasses for days and days. There are so many different looks and personalities inside each frame. The designers of the frames imagine very carefully the personality and energy of the wearer, and translate that into a sketch on the studio drawing board, matched with the right kind of metal and color. The two frames pictured here hooked our attention, with their cartoon-elegance look. But this isn't the only look you'll find in this collection right now at Luxe.

Style Storehouse
484 Main Street

Spring is indeed in the air at Style Storehouse, an oasis of soft fabrics that will surprise you when you try them on. Not to mention their easy pick-me-up jewelry to punch up any outfit. After your brunch or mid-afternoon lunch at Beacon Falls Cafe or Harry's, keep going past the restaurants to duck into Style Storehouse, and treat yourself to something fancy yet comfy.

Thank you reMADE, A Classic Couture Fashion Boutique, Bellus on Main, Luxe Optique, Style Storehouse, and SallyeAnder for sponsoring the Shopping Guide!

reMADE
133 Main Street

This double-wide storefront, reMADE, is owned by Liz Ferrara and features lots of little but carefully crafted pieces of jewelry, items for the home, as well as larger pieces of furniture to outfit your space.
Where is it? Across from Tito Santana's, next to Bank Square.
Mother's Day Gift Idea: These adorably sweet magnets for your fridge or office. Such an easy gift for little hands to grab and give. Handcrafted by Beacon native Susan DiGilio, owner of DiGilio Designs. These cheerful magnets are made with jewelry-quality glass domes backed with a metal base and a rare earth magnet.

Bellus on Main
181 Main Street

Bellus on Main is one of the newer boutiques on the block in Beacon's West End, and if you haven't been in yet, you really need to change that. Lots of jewelry and home decor is from South America, and many of the accessories are hand-picked from different artisans that the owners discover.
Where is it? Next door to Luxe Optique, up the road from Notions-n-Potions.

Mother's Day Gift Idea: Necklaces like this beaded blossom design at Bellus on Main are uniquely made, and your love will wear it as her own style, with maybe no one else having the exact same necklace.

Luxe Optique
183 Main Street

Luxe Optique moved to town not too long ago, and immediately began changing how people saw glasses. Pun intended. From holding parties to celebrate when new handcrafted lines arrive in the store, to custom fittings to their top-notch eye doctor seeing patients, Luxe Optique has brought the excitement and hand-craftmanship back to eye-wear.
Where is it? Across the block from Beacon Bread Company, and across the street from Beacon Barkery.
Mother's Day Gift Idea: These bad boys right here. Need we say more? Other sunglasses are available if your lady goes for less pizzazz, but really, why? Get these.

Style Storehouse
484 Main Street

Style Storehouse opened in Beacon one year ago. Owner Michele Williams lives in Poughkeepsie with her three sons and husband, and is constantly on the road between the shop and family. Her special gift is style, and making you feel very comfortable in styles you might not have considered for yourself. Come into the shop this weekend, let her pick out a few things for you, and then trust her opinion.
Where is it? Near Waddle n Swaddle, and across the street from the old Matteawan train station that now holds Gino's Italian Ice.
Mother's Day Gift Idea: Easy breezy dresses to wear to brunch or to work or on a playdate. Because they're all washable. Find a lot of Free People and Hard Tail in the store, which means soft fabrics with stretchy fits.

SallyeAnder
1 East Main Street

SallyeAnder is the newest shop on the block on the East End! Though their neighbor Lambs Hill is hosting their Ribbon-Cutting on Saturday, SallyeAnder has opened their second location in Beacon. The first is near the train station and is their soap-making and shipping factory.
Where is it? Just down the hill from the dummy light in the building that housed Electric Windows.
Mother's Day Gift Idea: Every hour on the hour from 11 am to 6 pm on Saturday and Sunday, join a demonstration of how to make lip balm. SallyeAnder is teaching you their secrets! The aroma of soap is instantly relaxing once you walk into the peaceful store, so do drop in and find a sweet-smelling soap gift for Mother's Day!

River Therapeutic Massage

Every woman should indulge in a #treatyoself session this weekend. Book with Karen at River Therapeutic Massage and always check to see if she has a special going on. You can tack on foot rubs, facial scrubs, and more. Gift certificates are available for Mother's Day, graduation gifts, Bridal Party gifts and more! Peruse River Therapeutic Massage's services, and pick one now.

PS: Did you see our Guide's new "Lashes" and "Laser Hair Removal" sections? Yes, all in Beacon! Visit our Beauty Guide for a complete list of beauty sources in Beacon, including hair, nails, barbers, and even lashes.

The Vault
446 Main Street

The Vault wishes you a Happy Mother's Day, and is ready for your family for Sunday brunch. There's plenty of room inside or outside (weather permitting). On Friday night, The Vault is closed for a private party, as wedding season has started and a couple wanted to celebrate with friends and family at The Vault. Where is it? Located at 446 Main St., down the street from Ella's Bellas and across the street from Terreson: Beacon.
Mother's Day Idea: Reservations are recommended but not required. Walk-ins are welcome. Call (845) 202-7735.

reMade
133 Main Street

SALE!!! This, like, never happens at reMADE, but owner Liz Ferrara is adding some pizzazz to your shopping experience by posting this limited-time sale at reMADE. That means you could get that furniture piece (or pieces) you had your eye on... Remember the stunning wall pieces you glimpsed on display through the window, or the furniture designs by some of the Hudson Valley-based makers that you've been coveting? Now is the time to stop in. Bring your tape measure. Or pick out a gift for Mom now (or if you are a mom, then find one for you).

A Classic Couture Fashion Boutique
178 Main Street

Sex-ay! Kick off these Christian Louboutins at the end of the night, tossing aside your feather boa after an evening of dancing, with your new spring pedi popping through the peep-toe. Maybe you'll wear them to The Vault's new Saturday Night '80s and '90s Music shindigs, or a night out at The Beacon Hotel. Only available in a size 36 at A Classic Couture Fashion Boutique, whose owner travels to fashion capitals all over the world to bring you the highest couture fashions. Who will be the lucky lady?

Bellus on Main
181 Main Street

Last week we covered the rings that were made from recycled spirits bottles, like SKYY Vodka, Corona, or Cabernet. Bellus on Main only works with with cleverly designed jewelry and housewares, so go in and treat yourself or your lady to this drop necklace (we've heard that it reminds some people of water bubbles).

Luxe Optique
183 Main Street

Yes, that is a single rose blooming from the top of these glasses, and yes, they can be yours from Luxe Optique. While many of the designer frames we have been showing you from Luxe are a heavier frame, this delicate style is one of many unique looks you will find on Luxe's shelves. Just be sure to look in each case, and to look slowly... and don't miss the frames in the window...

Style Storehouse
484 Main Street

The highly anticipated Poughkeepsie pop-up market from Style Storehouse is upon us! Owner Michele is taking all of the racks from her Beacon store, down by the dummy light, up to Vino at Crew Restaurant and Bar in Poughkeepsie. She has been adding door prizes all week in advance of the Spring Market tonight, Friday, at 6 pm. Door prizes include these Quay Australia Sunglasses, as well as a five-class pack to Elevate, and a $50 Gift Card to Crew. The Curated Gift Shop will also be there. Most importantly, you'll find all of the sexy styles that are carefully curated at Style Storehouse in this evening market, so head on up to Poughkeepie to shop and enjoy the night.

reMade

Time flies, but really, who's keeping track? A subtle way of displaying a clock on the wall, made by Beaconite Chris Faroe @faeroplane and available at reMADE. One-of-a-kind reclaimed creations that won't have you counting down the minutes. Looking at the driftwood will keep you in that dock-of-the-bay state of mind.

Stunning. That's how they roll at Bellus on Main. But stunning isn't the only quality held by items that make it onto the shelves of Bellus. The creation of the design has to be special. These rings are made from recycled alcohol bottles, including SKYY vodka, Corona beer, or Cabernet wine. Each ring comes with a reference sheet, should you have a preference for consumption.

Luxe Optique

Tiny baby Ray-Ban sunglasses! You'll find them at Luxe Optique, and they are as cute in your hand as they are on little faces. You must check them out. Choose from the John Lennon hippie style (left), or the Tom Cruise aviator style (right).

reMade
133 Main Street

Recognize this woodwork? It's from Peekskill-based artist Robert Powchik, maker of "the coolest cooler ever". His work is usually only available at the Beacon Flea Market, but now you can find his wooden spoons at reMADE any day of the week!

Bellus on Main
181 Main Street

Easter Dress season is coming! As is the Pre-K mini-graduation season. Bellus on Main has high-fashion for women, but included in their collection is this adorable, flouncy dress for kids as well, available in various sizes. It's wise to peek onto all of the shelves and racks at Bellus, because you never know what you might find with these collectors of fashion from all over the world.

Luxe Optique
183 Main Street

In our continuing series, "Luxe Frames On Faces Of Beacon" for Luxe Optique, we visit Steph in her store, Society of Lash, during a break between lash extension applications, to snap a photo of her in her exaggerated Dita Superstition cat-eye glasses. This frame is handmade in Japan, and Luxe Optique is having a Dita trunk show next weekend so that you can see more from the line.

Raven Rose
474 Main Street

Herbs! Glorious herbs. Even if you haven't started seeding for Spring yet, you can grow mint or basil right now from your kitchen window. These self-watering mason jars, filled with rock and seed, are waiting for you at Raven Rose. Several herbs are available, so that you can sprinkle fresh flavors into your cocktails, sauces or salads. Did you catch the part about how they water themselves? Because they do.

Style Storehouse
484 Main Street

New "sunnies" are in, says Style Storehouse in this Instagram video. They are ready for spring, with long and short shirts, stretchy, loose or fitted. Stop in to see their collection of sunglasses that can go with any of your styles.

River Therapeutic Massage

The Vault
446 Main Street

Fresh garnishes are ready for the delicious cocktails served up at The Vault. The freshly picked mint in this glass pictured here is for "The Beacon Made," which you'll find on the Cocktail Menu. The bartender muddles the mint, lime, and cucumber. It's shaken and served in the perfect glass. Ask for it to be served with Great 9 Gin from Denning's Point Distillery!

reMADE
133 Main Street

The process by which these art-to-wear scarves from Huzzah! Unique Handmade Wearables are made is fascinating. Dyed silk gauze fabric and only the finest, very soft merino wool "top" meticulously are arranged by hand. In the process of felting, the fibers merge with the silk and shrink to create the finished product. These pieces are light as a feather and can be worn year-round. You may have seen Huzzah! at Hudson Valley Farm and Flea, and she's a part of Makers on the Hudson. But lucky you, you can find these pieces at reMADE because owner Liz has a great eye.

Bellus on Main
181 Main Street

Maybe you've been trying to get into Bellus on Main but the "Closed" sign was up. It was because they are inside setting up for Spring! They are back from the fashion trade shows and inventory is in. Those who love the flowy Boho Chic look with off-the-shoulder shirts, dramatic sleeves with eyelet decoration, and beaded necklaces from Mexico and Turkey will love what they find in Bellus this weekend.

Classic Couture
178 Main Street

These little Prada pretties are waiting for a size 40.5 foot to slip them on. Covered in a pewter-gray silk and made in Italy, this d’Orsay pump with a strap will punch up your shoe collection. Add to that the high-couture Jack McConnell vintage cashmere felt hat with the feather plumes (pictured wih the pumps). You could hunt for these pieces on eBay, or you can find these treasures right here in Beacon at Classic Couture, near Artisan Wine Shop.
PS: Welcome Classic Couture as a Featured Listing in the Shopping Guide!

Luxe Optique
183 Main Street

Come on, Spring! Almost here! The sun rays reflecting off the snow are requiring protective eyewear, and DITA's modern interpretation of the classic cat-eye style is available at  Luxe Optique right now. Just one of many vintage-inspired styles you will find in this high-fashion optique boutique.

Raven Rose
474 Main Street

First of all, you need this cagey shelf in your life. Second of all that is a succulent you see growing from that vase, and there are more where those came from at Raven Rose. So much so, that we have been privy to owner Courtney's future plans for succulents, terrariums, and you. Stay tuned! But first, duck inside to see this shelf.

Style Storehouse
484 Main Street

Spring is in at Style Storehouse and so are the sleeveless T-shirt dresses you can wear over stretch pants or skinny jeans. Need to tone those arms to look good for summer? Happening This Weekend - 1/20/2017

If you're wondering where everyone went this weekend, know that many have headed to Manhattan, Poughkeepsie, NY,  Wyckoff, NJ, or the giant Women's March on Washington, DC. If you tried to buy markers for your adult coloring addiction at Rite Aid and they were sold out, that's probably because a lot of women (and men) have been making posters to take with them to the marches. No matter what your political opinion is of this Inauguration Day, the number of women who have organized and are marching around the world for various reasons is pretty monumental.

If you need a free bottle of Champagne to help get you through these times, then you're in luck, because Bellus on Main is having a "Guess How Many Candies Are In The Jar?" Valentine's Day contest. Scroll down for details!

Here is your easy access to planning. These are weekend dates pulled from some of A Little Beacon Blog's 10 Things To Do In Beacon Guides, so be sure to check them during the week.
There is more parking than you think!
Especially in the large, free lots on the East End of town, near the mountain. We've got pictures.
