Mr. V's Deli Is Selling; Daughter Maggie Working There 30 Years Wants To Retire; Will Close If No Buyer By June When Lease Ends

Mr. V’s Deli is selling. Their lease is up at the end of June, 2023, and they are not renewing. Maggie says she’s tired, but would like to work for a new owner.

A Little Beacon Blog received an anonymous tip in our DMs that we should do a story on Mr. V’s Deli. Being frequent taker-outers of Mr. V’s for breakfast, we said “Sure, but what’s the angle? A feature story must have a relevant and timely angle.” The tipster replied: “You should ask them.”

So we did. After the lunch-rush, we went in to ask the question. In between flipping eggs for the famous bacon egg sandwiches, the answer came: “I’m tired!” said Maggie, the owner of Mr. V’s. Margaret Ann Palisi inherited the deli from her father, Mr. Vitanza, aka “Poppy”. Maggie, who also goes by Meg, started working at Mr. V’s when she was 30, and 30 years later, she is ready to retire. Her sister, Jean Mignault, agrees, and also does not want to continue ownership.

“We have had a few nibbles, and one prospect, but no deals,” said Maggie.

ALBB asked Maggie what the response to the news has been, but her entourage of female cooks and supporters answered for her. “People are sad.”

All of the ladies were listening to our interview, their hands busy putting together sandwiches and bagging them for to-go orders. The phone continued ringing off the hook, as it does daily.

Maggie expanded: “People are telling me, ‘No, you can't do it.’ It's a lot easier for them to say because they aren't here. It’s a little different for us who are here. I'm putting in a lot of hours. I get here at 5am and I got home at 3pm. That’s a lot of hours to go somewhere. And that’s just here. That’s not including book-work. Shopping for the place. It's a lot. I had to bring my friend up from South Carolina because I can't find people here to work. I'm over it."

And yet Maggie is sad. Her eyes glassy and tired, she said she wanted to work for the next owner. “Oh yes, I would put in a couple days a week working. Just to give me something to do. I want to walk in as an employee, and walk out the door for the day.” This is a common response from business owners who grow tired running their businesses. Some business owners just want to go back to doing the work they loved, before the administrative part of the business sucked the second half of their day away. Some are still thriving doing both. Some can hire someone to take that load off. But at the end of the day, the load still rests on the owner, and it can get heavy.

The business is listed for $199,000. She is willing to sell the name with the business. Which would only make sense if the new owner kept the same theme, vibes and respect for how the food has been prepared. Not everyone can make a piping hot bacon egg sandwich that is still hot an hour after it was called in because someone got stuck on a meeting call (ahem…thanks for holding my order for me, ladies!).

Will the rent increase? “I can’t answer that,” said Maggie. Locally, rents have been increasing, hiking actually, by landlords who see an opportunity to renovate the space, or fill it with dreams of “New York City people” coming up to change their lives. The current landlords for the building that houses Mr. V’s are Headstone and Associates. The property changed hands a few years ago.

Would prices increase with a new owner? You could only do the math, but if you had a higher rent, and you want to pay employees well, the community might need to prepare for higher prices. However, low prices are part of what make Mr. Vs what it is. Accessible and affordable.

If you want a deli that feeds all of Beacon, and employees a good group of women who do not mince words, this could be your chance. The most popular items are the bacon and egg sandwich for brunch, and the Italian combo for lunch.

Just last week, this blogger had a premonition that Mr. V’s closed for a day because they were sick. The staff at Mr. V’s never take the day off, so their closing would mean that most parents of sporting events would not have breakfast. Entire departments of the City of Beacon would not walk out with their brown bag lunches on their 30 minute lunch breaks. The pretend headline ran “Someone Is Sick At Mr. V’s, So All Of Beacon Had To Make Their Own Breakfast.”

It was a relief finding out that the premonition was just a bad dream.

However, one DM and subsequent interview changed that.

Will you buy it? Go in and begin your courtship. After 30 years, Mr V’s will close at the end of June if no buyer who really wants it steps in.

Beacon Elks Lodge To Hold Flag Day Ceremony

From a press release sent by the Beacon Elk’s Lodge:

“The Benevolent and Protected Order of Elks Lodge will hold their annual Flag Day Ceremony on Sunday, June 11, 2023, beginning at 1 p.m., at the Beacon Lodge, 900 Wolcott Avenue,
Beacon, N.Y.

”The purpose of this service is to honor our country’s flag, to celebrate the anniversary of its birth, and to recall the achievements attained beneath its folds.

”U.S., State, and local elected officials, and area first responders have been invited to the ceremony.

”Keynote speaker will be Mr. Patrick J. Walsh, U.S. Marine Corps Veteran (1958-1961) and a member of the Benevolent and Protected Order of Elks for more than 50 years.

”The Elks prompted President Woodrow Wilson to recognize the Order’s observance of Flag Day for its patriotic expression. But it was not until 1949, when President Harry Truman, himself an Elk, made the proclamation that thereafter June 14 would be a day of national
observance for the symbol of our country.

“The public is invited to attend this rain-or-shine event. A collation will occur in the Elks grill room at the conclusion of the ceremony.”

Orange County Arts Council OCAC Announced $25k For Artists

Call For Artists and Community Arts Grants

Orange County NY Arts Council announces two locally-funded opportunities representing $25,000 of available grant awards to go directly to artists in Orange County. The 2023 Community Arts Grants and the Art Affair 2023 Call for Artists are both locally funded opportunities created specifically with the needs of the local arts community in mind. Individual artists and arts organizations are encouraged to apply for both opportunities. Applications can be found under “Grants” in the “Resources” tab found here or through OCAC’s links on social media platforms.

Since 2017, the Community Arts Grants have provided funding to local artists through a generous contribution of the Wesley-Kruger Family Foundation. Applications for $1,000 grants are now being accepted through June 15. All artists and arts organizations living in or serving Orange County, NY are encouraged to apply. This will be the last year of this program in its current form, as an updated Community Arts Program will be announced later this year.

The Orange County Arts Council fundraiser, the Art Affair, sold out the 2022 presentation which featured over 50 artists presenting and performing their work during the black-tie suggested, creative attire required, evening. The Art Affair is designed to showcase Orange County's art scene by creating an immersive event where guests can interact and experience art in many forms through installations and performances while enjoying curated food and themed beverages. Submissions for this year’s theme, Wonderland, are now being accepted and will be presented in November. Artists can receive up to $3,000 in funding for participation in this event by applying by June 15th.

Additional information:

Both applications will close June 15, 2023 at 11:59pm.

Community Arts Grants

  • Applicants MUST read the guidelines prior to submitting. Guidelines linked here.

  • Deadline:  June 15th 2023 11:59pm

  • The Community Arts Grants will be administered by the Orange County Arts Council (the “Arts Council”) and funded through individual donations made to the Arts Council from donors and sponsors, including a generous gift from the Wesley-Krueger Family Foundation. The work of the Arts Council is made possible in part by generous support of Orange County, NY and the New York State Council on the Arts.

Art Affair 2023 Call for Artists

  • Selected projects will be integrated into the evening's experience as designed by the OCAC Executive Director, the Gala Chair, and Gala Committee Members. Artists maintain all rights to their work and give Orange County Arts Council permission to use photo, audio, and video recordings of the work for promotional purposes.

  • Projects will be presented at the Art Affair, Saturday, November 18th, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

  • All applicants must reside in Orange County NY or show significant participation in the Orange County Arts Community outside this opportunity.

  • The Art Affair serves as its major fundraiser and provides exposure to the general public to artists and their work throughout Orange County. The Gala strives to elevate and bring together art and business and public.

Submissions requested:

  • Live Performance. Not to exceed 10 minutes in length. Dance, Theatre, Performance Art, Music, Readings, etc.

  • Art displays and installations. Our venue is large and we wish to fill the space with art. Submissions may include: practical builds (stage, drink bar, check-in table), internal or external installations or displays, immersive experience moments, AV installations, etc.

About the Orange County Arts Council (OCAC):

The Orange County Arts Council is a private, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to meeting the growing need for local arts advocacy and serving as a county-wide arts resource. A diverse Board of Directors made up of community leaders, business leaders, arts enthusiasts, and professional artists oversees the Orange County Arts Council. Many of OCAC programs are designed and implemented by volunteers serving on various committees.

Orange County Arts Council supports and empowers artists, fosters diverse forms of expression and promotes access to the arts through educational programs, cultural events, public projects and participation that is integral to the economic development and collective well-being of our community. Beacon School Budget Passes - The Result Numbers

Here are the results from the budget vote and board election.

Proposition #1 (Budget)
Yes 666
No 196

Proposition #2 (Buses)
The district is asking to purchase 3 buses that fits 72 passengers, and 1 passenger van that fits 20 passenger van, for a total of $530,000. Ann Marie explained that it will be financed over 5 years to match State Aid, which is 58.5%. The busses are to replace aging buses that will be taken out of service. The district does use the old buses as trade-ins to help offset the cost of new buses.
Yes 644
No 220

Proposition #3 (Electric Bus)
This district wants to purchase its first Electric Powered Bus, in response to the broader mandate from New York State to eventually have an electric fleet of buses. However, Deputy Superintendent Ann Marie stressed: “Only if the District receives $250,000 from grants and incentives. An electric bus is definitely more expensive. It's well over $400,000. We asked the taxpayers to purchase this only if we get the grant to offset the cost. This is a program we are basically ... there is a state mandate to have all of our fleet be electric. There will be infrastructure changes at the bus garage, and chargers purchased. This is the first step."
Yes 570
No 295

Proposition #4 (Expanded transportation)
The district wants to expand eligibility for kids to take the bus, by reduce the mileage radius of where students live. Currently, students who live 1.5 miles away can take the bus, but not those who live inside that radius.

Proposed is to reduce the radius to 1 mile. Dr. Landahl explained that this has a limited impact on the budget. “Some of the buses are running and they are not full of students,” he stated. “There is a plan for this. We are trying to target areas where kids are having a hard time getting to school. Some of the housing developments, we are trying to get kids to school to increase attendance and do better in school overall.”

Semra Ercin 607

The 1.5 mile School Bus Radius May Be Reduced To Include More Kids If Budget Passes

Generations of Beaconites might object to this big crack in the budget proposal - the consideration of expanding the number of kids who can ride the bus to school by reducing the mile-based cut-off radius that excludes kids who live too close to school. So many Beaconites had to walk to school in slush and rain and bad weather, up and down hills to and from school, because of the 1.5 mile radius restriction that cut off all kids from riding the bus if they lived within that radius.

When some kids asked their school principals about it, some long-time principals who grew up in Beacon responded to the tune of: “We all had to walk! That’s just the way it is!” One student attended a Public Comment session at a Board of Education Meeting last year in 2022 to ask the Board to consider offering busing for all, and to ditch the radius. The response from the Board and Superintendent was positive. Dr. Landahl stated that they had been working on such a proposal for a future budget meeting. 2023-2024 seems to be the one!

In this year’s school budget 2023-2024 budget, the Board of Education is asking taxpayers to vote to reduce the limiting radius by .5 miles, to reduce the radius by a little bit. During his online budget presentation to the community, Dr. Landahul explained that expanding the bus routes has a limited impact on the budget, as buses are not full: “Some of the buses are running and they are not full of students,” he said during this year’s budget presentation.

The impetus for this expansion is to include kids who live in housing complexes, meaning lower income housing. Said Dr. Landahl during his 2023-2024 budget presentation: “There is a plan for this. We are trying to target areas where kids are having a hard time getting to school. Some of the housing developments, we are trying to get kids to school to increase attendance and do better in school overall.”

Dr. Landahl stated that the most impact this would have would be on kids going to the Middle School and High School. “We hope this helps with on-time-ness,"

The Reality Of Getting To School

Anyone who needs to get children to school knows a few things. Namely, that all parents need help getting their kids to school. Any mile radius restriction within the City of Beacon has unclear justification.

For instance:

  • There may be more than one child in the home, thereby making driving to school during a pelting cold rain difficult. The High School and Middle School start earlier than the Elementary school. While there is a growing movement to start school later in order to let kids get more sleep, this hasn’t happened in Beacon yet. If a parent or caregiver has a child in elementary school, and their older child needs to get to school during a bad or cold weather day, driving them can be difficult or impossible. Not all households have 2 parents living in them. Single parents are limited as to when they can drive.

  • Parents who do not own cars cannot drive their kids anywhere. For parents who rent apartments on Main Street for instance, and have no cars, they need to sometimes walk their kids to South Avenue or Sargent, while another child is in Rombout Middle School or the High School. A choice must be made as to which child gets walked to school by the parent.

  • Children who live within the 1.5 mile radius, which may now be a 1 mile radius, still need to walk to school during hail, rain, and other sour weather conditions. Sometimes this includes hills to get to school, and sometimes Verplanck, which everyone knows has narrow sidewalks, which in the winter, when iced over, are frightening.

Busing Issues Do Exist

For those kids who do ride the bus, there are at least three issues:

  • The bus routes can be long. Getting home could take a child 1 hour on the bus. While driving could take 15 minutes (if you don’t include playing-at-the-playground time). Each situation is different for parents who have different schedules. One hour could be a blessing for a parent who needs the extra time. But a hardship on the child.

  • Issues with bus drivers. There have been years long complaints at Board of Education meetings about some bus drivers and the handling of children on the routes.

  • Small children and buses is a delicate situation. For instance, this blogger had her child on a bus. He was eager to ride. But when he fell asleep on the bus (nap time for a 4 year old) and slid off his seat onto the floor during a stop, he was reluctant to get back onto the bus. We remedied with having the bus driver buckle him in and having plenty of KitKats in his backpack to keep him happy.

While more children may be signed up to take the bus as a result of this radius reduction, the district will need to deal with what really happens on bus routes. From the bus drivers, bus monitors, and school staff who are in charge of seeing the children onto the bus. And what to do if a child does not want to get onto the bus.

High School students may have minds of their own on how they to get to and from school.

More Academic Support and Busing Eligibility Proposed In Beacon City School District Budget - Tuesday Vote 5/16/23

The 2023-2024 Budget for Beacon City School District is being voted on today by taxpayers. The proposals include maintaining some programs currently in place, and expanding others. Very new is the proposition to increase the busing radius for kids to be eligible to take the bus, reducing the 1.5 mile radius to a 1 mile radius. If kids live inside of the radius, they cannot take the bus. The District is working to shorten this to include more housing complexes and after requests from the public were made.

Residents who live in Beacon are to vote at Beacon High School. Residents who live in Fishkill or Glenham are to vote at Glenham Elementary.

Here is what is included in this budget:

The Pre-K Program Would Continue

Brought back after school opened after the pandemic shutdown, the Beacon City School District, along with other districts in the area, re-introduced a full-day Pre-K program. Last year, Pre-K was offered at a lottery level in a pilot program, with around 18 seats available, and was held in a large, well lit and ventilated room at Glenham Elementary. Long-time residents remembered when the district used to provide full-day Pre-K years ago, before it ended.

This year, the Beacon City School District's budget not only kept the highly successful program, but expanded the program into all four of the elementary schools with five teachers. For the next year year, the budget is proposing to keep the program, and add one additional Pre-K teacher for a total of 6 teachers. This arrangement serves 108 students at each of Beacon's 4 elementary schools.

New York State funds 50% of the Pre-K program, and District funds the rest, explained Dr. Landahl during the budget presentation. He said: “The Board (of Education) is always advocating for more Pre-K funds. We are very excited to be expanding Pre-K."

Retiree Cap Waved

For the last several years, according to Dr. Landahl, the retiree cap has been waved, which helps open the number of people who can be hired. “There used to be cap on how much a retiree could make. That has been waved again for this upcoming school year. This gives us a wider group of people to hire from. The hiring market has become challenging, so that is helpful too,” he summarized.

Beacon High School

At the Beacon High School, there would be a new hiring of a World Language Teacher due to a retirement. There is a proposed addition of an AP African Studies Class and an AP Environmental Science Class.

Mental Health Support continues to be a theme in the district's budget, as seen with the proposed 9th Grade support focus. “The High School team has put together a plan to provide more support for 9th graders in the summer programming especially in the academic realm,” Dr. Landahl said.

A second social worker is proposed to be hired for the Middle School, as a social worker who was hired last year to float between the High School and Middle School is proposed now to be dedicated to the High School.

Rombout Middle School

Rombout Middle School has been known to be a "Wild West" type of environment, where kids are fending for themselves in bigger ways than they needed to in elementary school.

There is a proposed addition of a dedicated social worker. "Mental health and social emotional needs of young people is expanding every year. We are trying to meet that need," Dr. Landahl shared.

A World Language Teacher is also proposed, which is needed for an expansion of the Italian language program, while making class sizes smaller. This teacher is anticipated for two sections in 7th grade and two in 8th grade.

In the music department, a half-time music teacher is proposed to be added to general music classes. For reading, a Reading/AIS teacher is also proposed for Middle Schoolers.

One Year Teacher on Special Assignment Positions

There are expansions in the Teacher on Special Assignment Position program, which is mainly funded with federal dollars, Dr. Landahl stated.

One Response To Intervention (RTI) Coordinator was working across 5 schools last year. The budget proposes to keep that position, and add a second teacher who provide this specific support. Duties include running RTI meetings in schools, working with teachers to support students, sometimes working directly with students, and working on interventions.

Last year the district had a one year Social/Emotional Coordinator position at the elementary level, which will be continued. "This person was all over the place this year, making a huge impact,” Dr. Landahl observed. We are excited to be continuing with that."

Two Math Academic Intervention certified teachers will be brought to the elementary level, in addition to teacher assistants who have been providing help.

District Wide Enhancements

New musical instruments are proposed in this budget. Several years ago, a state grant helped the 4th grade get instruments. This year, more instruments are proposed. Art supplies in the elementary schools are also in the budget.

Clubs and Afterschool actives are being expanded, and seem to be of focus by Dr. Landahl, especially at the elementary level. "We're working right now to take all of the clubs that were started this year, and trying to figure out any more for next year, so that we can have a comprehensive plan for what is developed. At the elementary level, we has seen exponential growth. We are trying to follow research with school connectedness with students. Clubs are not just a high school thing, they really should be at the elementary and middle school level," he said

The clubs differ a bit between the elementary schools in Beacon. “Part of that is based on teacher interest,” Dr. Landahl explained. “Part of that is based on student interest too. There has been a wide variety of clubs being offered. As an elementary school parent myself, I have enjoyed seeing these clubs being offered. The interest is high."

An increase of Family Events in the areas of face-to-face events is proposed, depending on need and the school.

Federal Stimulus Money

According to Ann Marie Quartironi, Deputy Superintendent for Beacon City School District, there remains money from the American Rescue Plan (ARP). Beacon was allocated $4.2 million, which was used for: :

  • Ventilation infrastructure in schools.

  • Academic learning loss. This included programs like the 3rd year of the Summer School program, which was popular among kids and included field trips.

This is the last year for that funding, so the district is trying to use that money, Ann Marie said.

MONEY - PAY FOR THE BUDGET

This budget would be raising levy to the cap. State Aid is $500,000 more than what they budgeted last year. Debt services money would be used as a result of Capital Project. Overall, the budget grew by 3.48%.

Proposition 2 - New Buses

The district is asking to purchase 3 buses that fits 72 passengers, and 1 passenger van that fits 20 passenger van, for a total of $530,000. Ann Marie explained that it will be financed over 5 years to match State Aid, which is 58.5%. The busses are to replace aging buses that will be taken out of service. The district does use the old buses as trade-ins to help offset the cost of new buses.

Proposition 3 - An Electric Powered Bus

This district wants to purchase its first Electric Powered Bus, in response to the broader mandate from New York State to eventually have an electric fleet of buses.

However, Ann Marie stressed: “Only if the District receives $250,000 from grants and incentives.

If the district purchases the new electric bus, they will put it on a few runs to see how it plays out over the next few years.

Proposition 4 - Expanding Eligibility For Kids To Take The Bus

The district wants to expand eligibility for kids to take the bus, by reduce the mileage radius of where students live., Currently, students who live 1.5 miles away can take the bus, but not those who live inside that radius.

He stated that that the biggest impact of this will be on Rombout and Beacon High School. “We hope this helps with on-time-ness," he said.

Contingency Budget - If The Budget Fails

If the budget fails, the following programs would see reductions:

  • Nonprofits couldn't use buildings for free anymore.

  • Non mandatory equipment purchases would not be made.

  • Certain student supplies would be cut.

  • Larger class sizes would result.

  • Reduction in athletic teams.

  • Loss of some music and art programs would occur.

  • Loss of academic electives would be felt.

  • Loss of some field trips would happen or need private financing.

  • Loss of extra-curricular activities.

Happy Mother's Day! And Second Saturday! :: Retail Therapy Guide 5/12/2023

Ok, for all you people who celebrate Mother's Day! There is a good message from our friend Moraya Seeger DeGeare here at BFF Therapy (who also has a love and sex wellness column at Refinery29), that encourages us to sit with our feelings about Mother's Day, and to be honest with how we want to spend the day.

As a mother (this is Katie writing), I've always enjoyed being on my own in the garden, having peace with the plants and the soil. This year, we're going to shake things up a bit and be at the Cupcake Festival (yes, THE Cupcake Festival that was in Beacon two times until it was two times too many as everyone overdosed on sweets and parking issues) at Dutchess Stadium (now called Heritage Financial Park. Sunday, May 14th, from 11am-4pm.

We will be be offering face painting and hair braiding with plenty of glitter. Even Unicorn Snot! Come out and support us mamas who want to earn a little cash on the day, while painting delighted faces of children. And yes, you can sit in the chair too if you'd like a design! We'll have our tip jar out. See you soon!

Spring Is Here And The Bumps Are Out

If you have been a longtime reader of A Little Beacon Blog, you’ll know that we look for speed bumps in Memorial Park. It’s a nice scenic drive, and easy to go fast through. Enjoyable! But so many kids and walkers are there.

Speed bumps in Beacon are not always embraced. Different neighborhoods have asked for them over the years, and in past administrations, been met with resistance. Usually the reason is that they are hard on the snow plows and other vehicles.

The speed bumps in Memorial Park are put down in the Spring, stay during the Summer, and are removed for the Winter by the Highway Department.

I Am Beacon Hosts Mixer & Opens Membership To Gain Access To Volunteer Opportunities

The non-profit group, I Am Beacon, has opened a membership program for the first time after serving the the community of the City of Beacon for a number of years in a wide-ranging list of efforts, which include producing the Back To School Block Party, and many years ago, organizing the city’s 4th of July event. To celebrate and grow the new membership, I Am Beacon is hosting a Mixer on May 17 at Two Way Brewing Co. The mixer is open to the public, and the ticket price is discounted for members and for sale online here.

When launching the membership, I Am Beacon said in a press release: “In today’s world, it is more important than ever to foster community connections. At I Am Beacon, we understand the importance of building strong relationships with our neighbors and are committed to creating opportunities for people to come together and learn from one another.”

To date, I Am Beacon has awarded $31,000 in scholarships, run 3,113 miles for charity, held more than 50 community events, gotten more than 700 supply kits to students, and distributed 327 turkeys in their annual Turkey on Every Table collection, according to their website. Hear them directly in their “This Is Beacon” podcast.

Reuben Simmons shared about the new membership: ”For the past two years we have piloted a membership program with great success! I am happy to get to this point where we can offer membership to all.” Benefits include volunteer opportunities, discounts on Thursdays at Key Food, and discounted tuition at Marist College for active volunteers.

Board member and branding designer for all of I Am Beacon’s materials, Brianna Rascoe, had this to say about her commitment to I Am Beacon: "Becoming a board member at I Am Beacon has helped me engage with my community in an intuitive way. The organization has fostered collaboration in a way that provides ample opportunity to give back in any capacity, from a helping hand to bringing our outside skill sets together to catalyze both our longtime events and the creation of new youth programming."

Tickets to the mixer are $30 for members, and $40 for non-members. Two Way Brewing is located at 18 West Center Street, next to Brett’s Hardware. The event is Wednesday, May 17th from 6-8pm. Tickets include one free drink and a chance to win a door prize. Buy tickets online here.

Hydrant Flushing Has Started In Beacon - Here’s Why It Happens - And the Schedule

The annual flushing of hydrants has started in Beacon, the City Administrator Chris White announced during a City Council Meeting on April 24, 2023. “This is yearly maintenance to get sediment through the systems. And to check on hydrants to make sure they are functioning properly.” The process started April 24th and ends the week of May 15th.

The City Administrator addressed complaints regarding wasting water. “It isn't. It is necessary to maintain the system.” He added: “We are not doing all 600 fire hydrants,” he stated.

He gave tips on how to get through the brown water period that may happen to water in the areas where the flushing is happening, which was to run the cold water to let the brown water go through. He also suggested to avoid running a load of laundry at that time.

The location schedule of hydrant flushing can be found on the City’s website here. Residents who still have questions are instructed to call the City of Beacon Water Department at (845) 831-3136.
