The Movie :: Retail Therapy Guide and Things To Do In Beacon 5/17/2024

The movie “There She Goes,” starring Rachael Leigh Cook (“She’s All That”) and Utkarsh Ambudkar (“Pitch Perfect” and "Ghosts") filmed in Beacon on Thursday, and it caused excitement and a stir. Main Street was closed between Wolcott (Bank Square Coffee) and Cross Street (Luxe Optique). While an "intermittent closure" was announced by the City of Beacon via their website one day before, and the production company gave letters about sidewalk disruptions to local businesses, the closure of daytime walking and browsing, not to mention driving, was a surprise to some business owners. Several stores did not see foot traffic as they usually do for a Thursday. A collection of people watching the filming. A Little Beacon Blog got a front row seat from inside Notions-N-Potions. We got to see the anticipated "throw the ice-cubes" scene, which included a surprise and unscripted duck into the witchy shop, much to our chagrin. Get the popcorn.
